Taylor
Taylor Swift was a rarity in pop: she is the sole celebrity who transitioned from the traditional to the mainstream, and to become a pop icon worldwide. Swift shed the country influences as if they were an additional layer of skin and revealed she was among the best singers/songwriters of her time. Swift could make the event personal and use the moment to benefit. Swift's early tracks, such as the neotribute to Tim McGraw were a testament to her talent. However, her second album Fearless in 2008 showcased an songwriter discovering her voice and a wider audience. Fearless was successful not only in the United States, having six platinum-certified singles. In fact, the Top Ten songs Love Story and I Belong with Me were the most important reasons. However, it did very well across the globe. Swift could build on her popularity by releasing Speak Now almost two year following. In the three subsequent albums the three albums that followed -- Red 2012 1989, Red 2012 and Reputation 2017, her fame only grew. It was a clear indication that she was in a new pop world where she fit in. However, even when she reduced her style with the 2020's stripped-down sister album folklore, and Evermore she remained atop the pop world a position she kept with the re-recordings of her earlier catalog, as well as Midnights which was her top-charting synthesizer 2022 collection.
